PerezHilton.com and TMZ.com are two giants in the celebrity world of gossip and news. Who would win a fight is like asking who would come out on top in a match, Rocky or Rambo? While we enjoy them both, it is fun to compare and speculate the two gossip web sites. After all, we all know Rambo would shoot Rocky's brains out.

Breaking News

TMZ broke the story about Michael Jackson's death, which is arguably the biggest celebrity news of the century. I still remember reading on their site that he had died, hoping they were wrong because everyone else was still reporting that he was in a coma. They were ultimately proven right and they have also been a constant reliable source on Jackson breaking news since. Their coverage goes beyond just Jackson as they just recently broke the news, complete with iPhone photos of course, that Steve Jobs has gone back to work. Even some user comments sometimes complain about old news being posted on PerezHilton.com.

Photos

The perezhilton website loves to have fun with photos with drawings and sayings which can be hit-or-miss, making us either laugh or detracting our attention from the image. A big part of the world of celebrities is the money shots and sometimes seeing painted drool is annoying, while other times seeing stains pointed out is funny. You have to admire PerezHilton.com for taking chances though. The TMZ website leaves their cropping alone for the most part. Another difference is that Perez Hilton shows nude photos. This means that clicker beware, but they have provided some juicy shots of Britney Spears getting out of her car...OK everyone technically had those shots. Still, warnings about offensive photos should not be taken lightly.

Reporting

PerezHilton.com has one mode of writing, and that is to keep a light tone. They interrupt stories, which are generally short anyway, with "Shame!" and other phrases with exclamation points. TMZ.com can be silly, too and can report on wedgies with the best of them. However, their news reporting is up there with major news organizations on more serious matters.

Yet, comparing the coverage of the news that K-Fed gained weight, TMZ.com seemed to oddly bomb with their archaic jokes about him being pregnant, where PerezHilton played with his name, pointed out his former occupation as a dancer, and even got us some quotes from witnesses and his ex Shar Jackson. They truly made K-Fed a spectacle for having the nerve to gain weight and go out in public. I am writing this with tongue-in-cheek but sometimes it is good to have some fun and PerezHilton.com's silly coverage has TMZ beat.

There you have it, in a twelve round knock-out TMZ.com wins among the two celebrity gossip websites. Luckily this was just a mock fight and both sites are still standing for us to get our fill from. However, if you can only visit one site, then TMZ.com has the edge as you'll get better breaking news and better reporting.
